Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Experience Estimating Custom Millwork, Cabinetry, Architectural Woodwork

  • Able to commute to Cumberland, RI 02864

  • Experience with High-End Residential Construction or Luxury Interior Projects

  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and interior design drawings

  • Strong understanding of wood species, veneers, finishes, hardware, and fabrication techniques

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Familiarity with estimating software and tools such as Bluebeam, Excel, or ERP systems

  • Background in millwork engineering, drafting, or fabrication

  • Experience of Luxury Residential Construction Processes and Site Conditions

Working Environment

  • Office-based with occasional visits to client homes, job sites, or design studios

  • Collaboration with sales, engineering, purchasing, and production teams

  • May involve reviewing physical samples and materials in the shop

Key Responsibilities

Project Review & Scope Development

  • Understand design intent and Estimating custom millwork for luxury residential construction projects

  • Quantify millwork scope from architectural drawings, interior design documents, and project specifications

  • Identify potential scope gaps, conflicts, or value engineering opportunities

Cost Estimating

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates including materials, labor, finishes, hardware, and subcontracted work.

  • Develop detailed pricing and accurate takeoffs for custom cabinetry, paneling, specialty woodwork, and architectural features; and quantify materials, labor, and fabrication requirements

  • Estimate fine materials, accommodate complex detailing and variable site conditions

  • Collaborate with purchasing and production teams to confirm material costs and fabrication methods.

  • Develop budgets and conceptual estimates when full design documents are not available.

  • Maintain accurate historical cost data and estimating standards.

Proposal Development

  • Prepare clear and organized proposals outlining scope, exclusions, and pricing structure.

  • Work closely with our sales team to review proposals prior to submission.

  • Collaborate with designers, builders, architects, and internal teams

  • Provide alternate pricing or value engineering options when requested by clients or design teams.

Collaboration & Preconstruction Support

  • Participate in internal preconstruction and handoff meetings.

  • Support project managers and engineering teams with clarifications and change orders during project startup.

  • Communicate design intent and estimating assumptions to internal stakeholders.

Client & Design Team Interaction

  • Work directly with architects, interior designers, builders, and clients to clarify scope and expectations.

  • Attend design meetings or project walkthroughs whenever necessary to fully understand project requirements.

  • Provide guidance on material selection, fabrication feasibility, and cost implications.

  • Ensure successful project execution
